I wrote this poem as a gift for a fellow "minion" of Misha Collins and Hope2Haiti team member, Paula Bridge. Paula made a donation to my Hope2Haiti fund. I asked her a few questions, and wrote this piece using information about her interests.
The Angel's Touch
For Paula Bridge in thanks for her generous donation
It was a hot summer night
Beneath an azure sky
Strains of music danced
Upon the wind;
Fernando
Her heart leaped at the beauty
Of the memory, and
She thought to set aside her
Book, to stand and dance
Away the night; but alas,
There is no Mr. Darcy
She sighed, and thought
Of her children, safely
Tucked in and sleeping
Angels inside the cabin
While she sat in lonely
Reverie upon the rustic porch
Chiquitita…
Alone, she wonders about
The meaning of an evening
Like this…
Hearing the gentle rustle
Of trees in the wind, she
Looks up and there he stands
He…how beautiful! How silent
His eyes pierce her soul
And he smiles, and leans toward her
As she, enthralled, drops
Everything to the floor
Gently,he picks up her book,
Her teacup, the half-eaten
chicken sandwich
Places them upon the table, and
Takes her face into his hands
"I am here," he says,
Because I serve heaven and
You are divine."
She melted.
Knowing Me, Knowing You
"Oh,Castiel, my Angel!"
She moved into his arms
As he held her close, brushing
The top of her head with
His lips and caressing
Her cheek gently
They stood like that
For a long time, silent
Beneath the full summer moon
Wrapped about one
Another like lovers
Her breath slow and steady
Her heart beating like the
Wings of million angels
I Have a Dream
When finally they separated
He kissed her full on the lips
A gentle, loving kiss
Unlike any other she had known
He left as suddenly as
He had come.
When she turned
She found a perfect pink carnation
Lying upon her chair
She picked it up and set it in
Her water glass
Like an Angel Passing through my Room
She smiled, knowing that she
Would never feel alone
Again
