Poem: California Highway

California Highway

Into the tumbleweed mist

No thought for safety, only

Mindful emptiness

Forgotten silence echoes, opaque

Upon the horizon, luminescent halo

Defies the darkness, mystifies

Senses reeling in the soundless night

There is no time, no recollection

Only darkness and dust

And tumbleweeds in the mist
