You have entered the Art Space of Suzy Phoenix. Here you will find examples of my most creative endeavors.
Artwork
My artwork is a kind of "folk art," I guess. My goal is to use old household items in new and unique ways. I figure, this way I have fun with playthings and keep some stuff out of the landfills. Some of the items I "hang" in this little gallery will already have homes. However, if you like it, feel free to ask. If you'd like to commission something created just for you, please contact me.
Poetry
I write poetry because I can't help it. A poem will let me know it needs to be written, and I comply. Whenever I write a poem I think should be shared here, I will post it. I also write poetry on behalf of others. If you would like to commission me to write a poem for you to give as a gift or for any other purpose, contact me. I will send you a questionaire, and we can go from there.
Other Works
I also write stories and articles about various subjects. Most have a spiritual bent. The blog you are in right now is a dedicated "Art Gallery;" however, I will post a link to my other writing, just in case you're interested in reading it.
For the Greater Good
Any donations in support of this site or commissions of artwork or poetry will be used in the following manner:
1/3 - Hope2Haiti fund in support of TheRandomAct.org's trip to Jacmel, Haiti, to build a community center for orphans. The center will include health and education services, a sustainable fish farm, and other services for the orphans and the community.
1/3 - split equally between two other funds -
* From the Ashes - in support of Mesa United Way to fund domestic violence and assistance programs.
* The Louis Marilyn-Buelna Memorial Fund in support of the United Food Bank
1/3 - to replenish art supplies. Anything left after that will be invested in microloans through Kiva.
Obviously, I am not doing any of this to get rich. I love to create, I love to share, and most of all I love to help wherever I can. If you feel like just supporting any of the funds above, just click on the link below, which will take you to my Crowdrise site.
