Gillie’s Dream
They sit together in the small café
Over a bottle of Irn Bru*
She smiles like jewels, and
He reaches out, gently
Touching her fingertips,
Tracing little hearts on
The back of her hand
She laughs, knowing their
Friendship will last forever…
Across the table, she counts
His freckles; and they chat for hours
In the distance, they can hear
Music playing, “Crazy Love,”
They begin to laugh when they
Hear his voice, singing
“Crazy,” says Jensen, gazing into Gillie’s eyes
“Shall we go to the Glen?” She asks
And he smiles. “Of course”
They won’t be alone for long
But while they are, she wants
As much of him to herself as she can have
He pushes her chair, and they walk
Slowly, sharing animal stories
And humming his song
Her heart soars like an angel still in heaven
What better day would ever be?
She closes her eyes a moment,
Taking in the wonder of her day
When it comes to an end
He walks her home
Along the way, they stop at a shop
And he buys her a gift:
A teddy in a tee-shirt
With his own little car
1967 Chevy Impala, black
And hazel button eyes
At her door, they stop
He reaches out and holds her close
“Crazy Love”
Good friends
When he leaves, she sends
Him with love for Danneel
And the biggest, squishiest hug
He’s ever experienced

Especially for Gillie Rollo
*For those who don't know: Gillie lives in Scotland. Irn Bru is a carbonated soft drink that is made in Scotland. Everything I've read says it tastes great. I've never been to Scotland though, so I have to take Gillie's word for it!
